2008 Illinois State Series Rules

Purpose
The INBL State Series is held to give riders all over the state an opportunity to compete
for a state ranking. Earning a State number plate in the top fifteen also qualifies riders to
compete in the 2008 President’s Cup, as state versus state race, in December. The State
Series shall be run according to NBL Local Rules, except as noted below.

Series Program
The INBL State Series shall consist of twelve (12) qualifying races and one State
Championship race. Riders must compete in two qualifiers, per class to participate at the
State Championship race. Riders must have competed in two local races, four State
Qualifiers, and the State Championship to qualify for a state number plate. A rider must
place in the top fifteen in their class to qualify for the President’s Cup. Open to all
licensed NBL riders holding a valid NBL license. All riders must have their NBL card or
pink enrollment sheet to race at the Qualifiers and the State Championship race.

Mains/Transfers
The INBL will hold main event races for only qualified classes.  A qualified class would
consist of 7 or more racers in that class or combined class.

Classes
All riders shall participate in age/proficiency as listed in the NBL rule book as Local
Classes. Class sizes will follow NBL local rules. Classes will be combined as required by
the NBL rule book. Riders may run their national, regional, or state plate numbers. It is
the responsibility of the rider and or parent guardian to assure that the number on the
rider’s plate matches the number posted on the moto sheets. Number plates must be
legible. Number plates not matching the moto sheets or that scorer’s are unable to read
may not be scored. There is no freeze date for age and/or proficiency.

Point System
For the purposes of Illinois State ranking, INBL State Series (Qualifiers and
Championship) races will be scored as single points with motos and mains counting.
Combined classes shall be pointed separately, for motos and mains. The Illinois NBL
award point chart will be used for scoring. (See below) Final state ranking will be based
on a riders top six (6) qualifying scores plus their State Championship score. Points
earned at State Qualifiers and the State Championship will still be double and triple
point races for the NBL Regional, State High Point and Leap Series.

Awards
At State Qualifiers trophies will be given to all point class riders. Combined classes will
be trophied separately. Riders may opt to receive INBL coins in place of a trophy. INBL
coins are $5 toward race fees. All coins earned during and/or prior to the 2008 season
must be used by the 2008 State Championship race. All riders that participate in at least
four qualifiers and the State championship race will receive a state number plate.
